| | Well I Wonder, The Smiths | ] | At the moment, we have a brouchure advertising a series of lectures on a variety of topics, entitled "Global Power Exposed By The Ancient Mysteries Of Egypt".
...
At first glance, it just looks like entertaining conspiracy theorism (and maybe a cheap attempt to buy into The Da Vinci Code) - the pages are filled with images of the pyramids side-by-side with the Freemasons logo and the like.
Then you read the text. (Bolding mine.)
About the speaker:Lyle B. Southwell Global speaker: Symbology, history, & future events Lyle Southwell is a Christian commentator, speaker, medieval historian and symbologist... Description of the first lecture:Ancient Egypt: Land of Mysteries And Secrets Discover the secrets hidden within the pyramids... * Can the pharohs of Egypt unlock the mysteries of today? * Do the pyramids contain supernatural powers? * Is the religion of Egypt connected to Christianity? * Is the global agrenda in our world patterned on Ancient Egypt? * Is Christianity one of the biggest frauds of all time? About the organisation sponsoring the talks:FOUNTAIN MARRICKVILLE Sydney city's newest Christian fellowship Attended and supported by people of many different faiths Fountain welcomes all to a warm, friendly and exciting time of discovering spirituality together.
So, wait. I'm confused. A "Christian commentator" is coming to present a lecture containing discussion about, amongst other things, whether Christianity is a fraud. And it's being presented by a Christian group. And we expect this to be a discussion?
By the by, I'm vaguely wondering how many "people of many different faiths" actually attend.
...Also, wasn't ancient Egypt, y'know, well before Christ? Or are they saying that Christianity is a rip-off?

| | Freight Train, Chas McDevitt & Nancy Whiskey | ] | I finally had the first photography class today. Only two months late.
It looks like it could be fun, if I don't pull out my hair from overwork.
My classmates are interesting.
Kay: Is there anyone who isn't on... Are you on Facebook? Mm: No. Kay: ...Well, there goes my theory!
Sigh... :P. -Mmaster |
