| | sleepy | ] | Last night was TropFest.
Justin, Calsanne and I staked out a spot from about 1pm. We probably didn't need to get there quite that early, but it meant that we managed to obtain a larger spot than most.
We played a few card games, but mostly sort of napped. Steson showed up around three thirty or four o'clock. I was amused that even half the ads had credit rolls in this setting. Oh, that's right, they aren't "ads", they're "short films" promoting a product. Translation: a little artier, I guess.
The films weren't bad, but I didn't really find any stand out ones. I liked Fences, and Left Unspoken, but things like NYE went straight past me and I had no idea what was going on.
We were accosted at intermission by a moderately drunk girl named Bianca who was extolling the virtues of Mongolian Throat Singing. Steson distracted her by collapsing to the ground and crying "Knees! Knees!" Since the cardboard seats that they were providing were fairly uncomfortable, I stole a little lawn chair off the group next to us (who seemed to have left, since their blanket mysteriously vanished) and gave it to Steson to stop him whining. :P.
After we left at the end of the films, we managed to wander aimlessly and wind up at Circular Quay, where a 437 was just about to start his run - he let us get on before he'd even started, which was nice of him. It meant that we had a seat, which was especially good, because it was packed from basically Circular Quay till something like Stanmore McDonald's.
I wound up getting a little sunburnt across the face. Calsanne was fairly severely sunburnt on her back (one step short of blisters), unfortunately.
I should be getting ready for work, but I'm waiting on Justin and Calsanne so we can leave. -Mmaster |

I am less than optimistic. -Mmaster |
